Providing metadata

The more documented your book is, the better it ranks on reseller sites. When metadata is poorly documented, the book may not end up in the right sections.

You will find below the various metadata that can be provided.

Note that in these articles, the required metadata are identified as follows:

Required metadata

We recommend that you document the metadata in the following order:

  • Adding an EPUB file and/or Ajouter un fichier PDF

  • Adding metadata for the paper format

  • Ajouter un résumé

  • Ajouter un ou des contributeurs

  • Ajouter les classifications

  • Documenting the collection and series (if applicable)

  • Ajouter des documents promotionnels dans Médias, notamment la couverture

  • Ajouter les prix pour une publication

If the automatic upload option is enabled, your publication will be put online once the basic metadata has been provided. Otherwise, you will have to upload it manually, by switching it from Offline to Online using the button at the top left of each publication's detail screen. An orange dot means that the publication is offline, and a green one means that the publication is online.
