Preparing a batch of publications for libraries

This article explains how to prepare a batch of publications in order to import them and associate them to a library offer.

Batch importation is done through the interface, using an Excel file.

The format of this file is predefined (see the template below). Each row represents a publication to be imported, and each column a field to be filled in with the information expected by the platform.

Defining the data

Enter in the template file, for each publication to be imported, the expected information according to the following definition.

Numerical identifier

ISBN format identifier (EPUB, PDF or audio) associated with the library product

B

Key type

Name of the type of identifier.

Possible values:

  • ISBN

  • EAN

  • custom

C

Product identifier

Library product identifier (automatically generated if left blank)

D

Offer number

Offer number (must exist under Profile > Market > Offers > Libraries)

E, G, I, ...

Country

Country in which the price applies, in 3166-1 alpha-3, 3 characters long (Canada = "can", Italy = "ita", France = "fra")

Note: For the Euro group price, enter "eur".

F, H, J, …

Price

Price of the offer in digital format: cost in cents.

Example: 19,99 € = 1999.

When the data is ready, save a copy of your file in CSV format with UTF-8 encoding and semicolon (;) field separator. Most spreadsheets offer this option under File > Save As.

Importing data

The file is now ready to be imported into the platform via the Import button on the Publications tab.
